HAPPY NEW YEAR 2016!
In this year, I wish to accomplish the goals that I have yet to fulfill since umm 2014? My constant goal is to study smart, get good grades, graduate with the highest qualification that I can obtain and make my parents proud. I wish to be stronger and happier throughout the year while keeping faith in God. May we all get closer to what we want to achieve, Amin.

The Springs Mall, Kuching
First post in 2016, and I am going to resume story-telling about my third day ventures in Kuching.
The first place we went in the morning after getting ready was The Springs Mall. My strongest reason to visit the mall is because of Sephora, haha.
Photo taken from Google. The infrastructure does not look so interesting but the mall was bomb!
As soon as we stepped our foot at the mall via taxi, we were welcomed my bunch of nutcrackers on both sides at the main entrance. People in the pictures are my fam.^^v We went to have our breakfast at KFC first before doing our shopping.
Awkward standing position
I look like a school girl with the outfit, haha
nutcracker 사랑해요~
There were also Christmas decorations inside the mall's atrium
Gingerbread man~
Fun fact about The Springs Mall, Kuching: There are books scattered around the mall, and each book displays a one-page content, there are a total of 7 pages, if I am not mistaken so total of 7 books are scattered around the mall. I have only seen 2 though, the first page is located at the entrance, if you could see from the entrance picture above, there is a book sited in the center. The picture above is the third page of the book(not sure though), at the same time the place has a coin fountain, where people toss coin into the water while making a wish, it is believed to have that kind of superstition but I don't really believe it, haha. The next time when I visit the mall, I will be sure to find all the pages!
Victoria's Secret will be opening soon at the mall, it was unfortunate that it hasn't open while I was there. Other available stores are such as Aldo, Pandora, H&M, ToysRus and many more. I ran straight to MAC and Sephora after taking picture of the Xmas tree. I bought a lipstick from MAC, NYX Cosmetics from Sephora and beauty items from Nature Republic and Etude House. I will post the haul in my next post.
After shopping, I re-energized myself with rock salt something drink, I forgot the name. It tastes so sweet for me, I did not finish it and let my brother to finish it instead.
Easy Drink Easy Go. You can just imagine the taste of a very sweet popcorn, thats how it is.
CityONE Shopping Mall, Kuching
After finishing with our business at Springs Mall, we went to CityONE Mall. At first we decided to just walk since its only 1km away, but it was raining so we just took the cab (where the taxi driver charged us unexpectedly a bit high, RM17 for just a 1km distance. It should be RM7 though. I didn't have a good impression of him, and he was kind of rude. I actually observed the taxi fares during my stay in Kuching, also I did not want to make a mess when it happen).
I did not buy much at CityONE, I personally think the mall was boring. The infrastructure looks convincing though. There was a laser tag game zone, rock climbing, kid's playground, arcade and cinema, but I am confused whether its the Springs Mall or CityONE that accommodate those (yeppp, I am so forgetful).
This is how the mall looks like(pict taken from Google). There are actually two buildings(old&new) but I did not know about it so we skipped the second building.
Anyway, we had our late lunch at a Japanese restaurant and I forgot the name. The drinks came with a tall glass, which is good.
This was my food. Prawn tempura with seaweed and rice. It tastes sooooo good.
Ma bro's food. Japanese curry udon. Seriously, Japanese curry is the best!
Planned to shop for the whole day of the last day but we unexpectedly finished our shopping at two malls early. We used the remaining time to visit the Kuching Waterfront again and get on a river cruise.
Kuching Waterfront River Cruise
The cruise was a double-story, this is the view from its top deck. The top deck has an open seating. The rain was drizzling at that time so we just decided to enjoy our river cruise at the bottom enclosed deck.
Interior of the bottom deck. It was sooo cold! Glad that I bought my cardigan along. We paid around RM260(4 adult 1 child) to get into the cruise, The pricing came along with Sarawak/Kuching layer cake and orange juice servings for each person. There were buffet and alcoholic beverages too but requires an additional pay.
I like how retro-ish this photo looks.
Still haven't departed from the deck yet when I took this
My lip color has worn off.
Finally started moving closer to this place in the beginning~
The Astana. So pretty~ but I think this place is restricted for visitors to get in since it contains confidential information.
There were announcements throughout the cruise regarding the names of the places that are in sight as well as a bit of history-telling about the place.
If you are interested in history and sight-seeing, I am sure that you will enjoy the cruise.
Plaza Merdeka is near to this location.
Square Tower. Never expected that a place that was once a prison, dance hall and a mess was just a small block of white lego? Or maybe other parts of its building has demolished.
Cruised from late afternoon (5.30PM) til dusk
The sights were prettier at night, but my camera suck.
We cruised til we passed by a bridge and Kuching Industrial Area, saw big residencies of the important person/ministers along too. Upon returning to the deck, there were dance performances by different Sarawak tribes and they were awesome.
This was the cruise that we took. It was an enjoyable moment. Thank you, Sarawak River Cruise!
After the cruise, we went for a search for Kuching's must-have local dish, Mee Kolok, but could not find it. Apparently we have to get to the other side of the river to get the taste of the dish. Luck was not with us, but I managed to get a taste of the normal/fried mee kolok at a Malay restaurant nearby our hotel. The authentic type of mee kolok is where the noodle and soup/sauce are served separately, you can either eat it by pouring the whole sauce into your noodle. I will make sure to eat mee kolok the next time I visit Kuching, IT IS A MUSTTTTT!!!
This was the fried mee kolok that I had. It was one of the best dishes I have eaten in Kuching.
After dinner, we went back to our hotel to get ready for our departure. Hauls, reviews and swatches of my remaining purchases in Kuching will be posted next. Stay tuned!
