Innisfree Jeju Volcanic Blackhead Out Balm
I got the product from a local seller on Instagram. Her IG is naturecarebeauty
The quoted actual price by the seller was $12. But I got it for $9 because there was a flash sale!
It is stated that the images/texts on the product is printed with soy ink. I find it amusing because I never knew that soy ink can be used for printing! The ink seems to have a good quality too. The box is like made out of recycled paper. I really like the save-the-environment concept.
English description, instructions and ingredients of the product.
How I wish I can translate this part for you guys
At first, I thought the product is a makeup base to cover the pores...but it isn't. It is a massage balm to extract the whiteheads and blackheads!
I am not sure about other Korean brands but Innisfree products requested to be returned to Innisfree itself, maybe for recycling purposes, which is good.
The product's longevity is 12 months after opening.
Twist open the cap to reveal the balm. The tub fully contains the balm, I can tell that I will be using it for a long time.
The product does not come with a spatula. I do not have any spare spatula so I had to dig out the balm using my finger.
The scent; light pleasant perfumy oily smell?
The texture: I thought the texture was going to be hard but it isn't! I can scoop out the balm easily, it even dissolves easily too with rubbing/massaging.
The balm smeared into a oily-like texture after rubbing/massaging. The after-texture does not feel thick and too oily, hence it is thin and glossy.
My experience:
During the first use, whiteheads does come out when I massaged my face with the balm, only a few came out though. The instructions stated to massage the face for 3 to 5 minutes but I went overboard sometimes and massage until I am satisfied (no more than 10 minutes though). I have an oily skin and it does not product any reaction when I applied the balm.
After a couple of uses, a blackhead reached out and removed from its field.
I found a review where the user said the balm minimizes pores instantly after use. Referring from the above picture of my first usage, I do not see any difference in the size of my pores, it remained the same. Maybe I have to use the balm frequently.
Another thing is, not only the balm grabs whiteheads and blackheads, it grabs impurities and leftover makeup on the face too!
After massaging the balm on my face, I cleanse my face using a foam wash. The balm will hard to remove with only just water, it is best to wash out the balm using a face wash. After using the balm and cleansing, my face does feel a bit smoother.
The instructions does not state how frequent the product can be used in a week, so I am going to use it almost everyday.
Attention: the balm can't remove stubborn whitehead and blackhead easily.
My rating:
It does what it claims to do, which is attaining the blackhead/whitehead, it cleans the face too but the strength of the balm is just mild. You might want to try out this balm if you don't want any harsh products for your skin! I think it suits all skin types too! :)
Will I repurchase?
Maybe.
Have you guys tried the balm before? How was it for you? :) Comment down below!
