Purpletale Setting the Scene Treatment Essence Review | A Fairy Tale Skincare

Hello, Lovelies! I am not sure if you remember but I mentioned about this Fairy Tale-like brand, Purpletale in two of my blog posts before. I love the color scheme and concept of this brand, especially the way how they describe their products. I am back with another review of their product sponsored to me by the brand for review purposes.

I have been using this Purpletale Setting the Scene Treatment Essence since October, the amount I am left is not even close to half and its been doing good things to my skin!

Price: USD 35/130ml

Description
The best stories start strong, and that’s how yours should, too — each and every day! Our treatment essence sets the perfect foundation for your beauty routine by improving your skin's texture and clarity.

This lightweight essence starts you off with a hydrating base that instantly perks up your skin, leaving you glowing from the inside out. Is it just us, or is this story off to a great start?

Loaded with ginseng, peptide complexes, adenosine and niacinamide, this lightweight treatment essence will set the right tone for your day. It helps hydrate, brighten and smooth fine lines for that oh-so-coveted glow.  Perfect for all skin types.

With daily use, this essence will improve skin’s overall texture and contribute to a more beautiful, balanced, and glowing complexion.

I super love the box! Any trigonometry lovers here?? I say no to Maths and any Maths related stuffs bahahaha

Packaging
The body is hard glass bottle which can be fragile and break into pieces once it fell off a high area. I don't want to lose its goodness so I've been taking care and using it carefully. I like the purple light metallic cap, the wordings on it are printed instead of stickers The overall packaging has some kind of lush feel to it.

It can be bulky for travelling but you can always decant it into a smaller bottle. I commute weekly during school days and I never experienced leaks with this product. I will feel devastated if it leaks.

Product can sustain for up to 12 months after opening. MFG and EXP dates are printed on the bottom.
MFG: 28.8.2015
EXP: 27.8.2018

How To Use
Set the scene twice a day by applying an appropriate amount of our treatment essence to your fingertips, then gently pat onto cleansed face and neck.

The dispenser is through a small hole with a stopper, it doesn't go all out at once so theres no spills.

 Main Ingredients
This fluid type of essence will help hydrate, brighten and smooth fine lines while supporting skin cell renewal.

Ginseng saponin: The hero of our story; this revolutionary ingredient of Asian skincare saves the day with nourishing and antioxidant properties to help restore and preserve a more youthful look.

Peptide complexes: Time machines are no longer just for sci-fi and fantasy tales. This anti-aging powerhouse prompts natural collagen production to reverse the signs of aging.

Adenosine: this ingredient doesn’t believe in reading between the lines, just getting rid of them - without irritating or inflaming your skin in the process. This yeast-derived ingredient penetrates deeply into skin to improve appearance of wrinkles and fine lines while supporting healthy cell function.

Niacinamide: also known a vitamin B, though we consider it more as your skin’s vitamin-packed BFF. This tried-and-true ingredient has a reputation for treating uneven skin tones, reducing acne, and soothing skin redness. Sounds like the perfect sidekick to us.

  Ingredients
Water, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Niacinamide, 1,2-Hexanediol, Diglycerin, Betaine, Hydroxyethylcellulose, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Dimethicone, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyglutamic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Copper Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Pueraria Mirifica Root Extract, Ginsenosides, Fragrance

Alcohol is 3rd in the list if you are concern.

Consistency

Consistency is clear, not as watery, it is a bit thick but still runny. If you've tried Purpletale products before, you know they have that Purpletale's signature scent. The smell is pleasant, something that I want my living room and candles to smell like. No alcohol scent detected.

A little goes a long way with this essence. After tapping it on my face, it quickly absorbs and leaves a matte finish with a bit of a glow, it is not sticky so I can immediately carry on with my next product without waiting, it is lightweight indeed. It is a bit moisturizing and makes my skin soft. I love sniffing the product's scent.

Results
I've been using this a little over 2 months, the time frame is appropriate to say my thoughts about the essence's effectiveness.

Pros
It doesn't break me out
Smells nice
It helps as a hydration layer in my skincare routine due to the presence of multi-peptides
Helps to provide that glow from inside out
I don't really have fine lines for it to smooth out but I think it helps with anti-aging, thanks to the Ginsenosides (Ginseng).
A little goes a long way, will last for months

Cons
I don't really notice any brightening, acne treating and skin soothing, that is probably because my skin doesn't react well with niacinamide and in terms of brightening, the only brightening ingredient that I know of in the list is niacinamide.
Pricey.
I don't really have other bad things to say about this product. Other than the above two statements, this product does what it claims.

My Final Thoughts
I enjoy using this product, I like how it helps as a hydrating layer to my skincare routine and I love its scent, but I am a girl with concerns, I have acne scars to whiten so I am looking for essences that can treat my skin concerns. When I finished this essence, I don't see myself purchasing it now as I am looking for essences that can treat my skin problems but I might want to go back to using this essence in the future for anti-aging. It is not a bad product.

This product is recommended for all skin types and I personally agree with that. Dry skin to all skin types, this essence is helpful as a hydration layer and prevent fine lines.

Simple Skincare Kind To Eyes Eye Make-Up Remover Review | Lookfantastic Mini Review

Annyeong, Everyone~ I ordered this Simple Skincare Kind To Eyes Eye Makeup Remover off Lookfantastic because I was looking for a replacement to my favourite point makeup remover which is the Boomdeahdah Lip & Eye Remover. It was my first time buying something from Lookfantastic and I think their service is quite good. It is a UK-based online store that ships worldwide for FREE. I live for free shipping sites!!!! I remembered that I ordered sometime in November 2016 and my order got shipped out ON THE SAME DAY . I was amazed at their fast shipping service. The free shipping didn't come with a tracking number but thats alright. It arrived a month to Brunei and my small item was packed in a big box. They also included a voucher to use within the UK but unfortunately I had to throw it out since I'm not living in the UK. Overall I'm happy shopping with Lookfantastic and would definitely buy from them again. My item was received in a good condition too, no leakage
