Etude House AC Clean Up Pink Powder Mask Review | FAIL???

Annyeong/Hello, Everyone~
I spent the whole day reading Girl On The Train yesterday. IT WAS SO FREAKIN GOOD THAT I COULD NOT PUT DOWN THE BOOK. It has the kind of story that makes me feel that it is too bad that it ended and I wished the story was longer haha. I enjoyed reading it so much. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you like mysteries or Gone Girl shit! *endless thumbs up*

I have been using this product a number of times now. I am glad that I bought its trial size first instead of immediately buying its full size. I've always wanted to try this product before. Any products that are for acne I NEEDED to try.

I bought this Etude House AC Clean Up Pink Powder Mask sample off RoseRoseShop eBay for USD 2.35/20ml.

It is a good price as 20ml will last quite awhile, I can get many uses with it and I can confirm whether or not to get its full size.

What it is
The wash-off mask instantly soothes problem areas with its strong effects.

How to apply
1. Use at the last step of skincare.
2. Apply an appropriate amount on the face and massage starting from the center and working outward.
3. With the left-over moisture, gently dab away to promote absorption by skin.

Caution
1. Use only as directed.
2. Avoid storing in high/low temperatures or in areas exposed to direct sunlight.
3. Stop using if it causes any allergic reaction or any problems arising.

I am not sure if the 'how to apply' instructions are a mistake because it says to use it at the last step of skincare while the product itself is a wash off mask.

On the back, it says,

"Directions: After washing the face, gently apply on the entire face except skin around the eyes and mouth. After 10-15 minutes, gently wash off with lukewarm water.

Caution: 1. For external use only 2. Avoid contact with eyes 3. Keep out of reach of children 4. Discontinue use if signs of infection and/or rash appear"

Product's longevity period after opening is 12 months.

Ingredients

Water, Kaolin, Propanediol, Zinc Oxide (Ci 77947), Glycerin, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid, Polysorbate 60, Palmitic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Madecassoside, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Ampelopsis Japonica Root Extract, Allium Cepa (Onion) Bulb Extract, Allium Sativum (Garlic) Bulb Extract, Carica, Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Glycoproteins, Colloidal Sulfur, Iron Oxides (Ci 77491), Glyceryl Caprylate, Lactose, Lactic Acid, Iron Oxides (Ci 77492), Microcrystalline Cellulose, Butylene Glycol, Sorbitan Stearate, Sucrose, Silica, Zea, Mays (Corn) Starch, Xanthan Gum, Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Peg-100, Stearate, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Disodium, Edta, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

Ingredients to note

* A few alcohol derived ingredients which are: Cetearyl Alcohol and Polyvinyl Alcohol

* Salicylic Acid & Tea Tree Oil: treating skin troubles and acne

Madecassoside: a centella derived ingredient. For skin soothing.

* Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water and Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract (Hinoki): I believe this is the common ingredient used in Etude House AC Clinic/Clean Up line. It is for antioxidant, anti-aging and soothing.

* Some plant extracts: Onion(improve acne scars), Garlic(antioxidant) extracts and Papaya extract (natural AHA, skin exfoliating, promotes skin generation and antioxidant to reveal smooth and soft skin).

Texture

Texture feels like a thick sunscreen but not hard to spread, instead it feels smooth. It is light pink in color and has that signature Etude House's AC Clinic/Clean Up line scent. AC Clinic is the old name of the Clean Up line, for your information. The smell is herb-y + medicine-y....and I like it. it can be overwhelming for those who doesn't like medical smells.

The product dries and requires to wait within 10~15 minutes then wash off. It doesn't feel tight as it dries. its just that the product dries without the tightening effect. The scent lingered while I have it on and the color faded as it dries.

It is easy to wash off and the color turns white with water.

My Thoughts

So this product claims to "instantly soothes problem areas with its strong effects" and right after wash off......I DO NOT THINK THAT IT INSTANTLY SOOTHES PROBLEM AREAS WITH ITS STRONG EFFECTS.

What can I say, I am an acne prone person and I've been using this product for a couple of times now and after every time I wash off, I do not see any difference. My pimples are still inflamed and still look the same.

I just feel that after wash off, my face becomes clean (duh).

One time I think that the product is too strong for me. I used the wash off mask two days in a row and it gave me a small pimple at an area that I don't usually break out. So yeah I guess for me this product can't be used daily, maybe just twice a week.

Anyway, this product doesn't dry out my skin after wash off.

Since I think that the product doesn't seem to work on me, I use it as an overnight spot treatment at some nights. In my experience, I observed that it works better on big painful acne than on small pimples. I applied it on my acne one night and in the morning, the puss from the acne came out. Sounds disgusting but it actually speeds up the healing process of the acne and without the need to do extraction too.

My Final Thoughts

It unfortunately doesn't work for me in terms of providing soothing effects as a wash off mask but at least multi-purpose it as an overnight acne treatment and it works that way instead. I read that other users are liking this product.

As for now, I am going to keep on using it until I emptied the product.

Will I Repurchase?

Works as an overnight treatment but I won't repurchase as I don't usually have to big painful acne/cyst kind of acne. I think people with hormonal acne or stubborn acne might want to try this product as a spot treatment to see if it would help.

  1. When do you use this as an overnight spot treatment? Do you use moisturizer before you put it on? Or do you use this product after toning? Or immediately after water based cleansing?

Simple Skincare Kind To Eyes Eye Make-Up Remover Review | Lookfantastic Mini Review

Annyeong, Everyone~ I ordered this Simple Skincare Kind To Eyes Eye Makeup Remover off Lookfantastic because I was looking for a replacement to my favourite point makeup remover which is the Boomdeahdah Lip & Eye Remover. It was my first time buying something from Lookfantastic and I think their service is quite good. It is a UK-based online store that ships worldwide for FREE. I live for free shipping sites!!!! I remembered that I ordered sometime in November 2016 and my order got shipped out ON THE SAME DAY . I was amazed at their fast shipping service. The free shipping didn't come with a tracking number but thats alright. It arrived a month to Brunei and my small item was packed in a big box. They also included a voucher to use within the UK but unfortunately I had to throw it out since I'm not living in the UK. Overall I'm happy shopping with Lookfantastic and would definitely buy from them again. My item was received in a good condition too, no leakage
