Annyeong, Everyone~
It's my husband's Ji Chang Wook birthday today!!! *throws confetti* can we take a moment to appreciate this man of beauty?? *heart eyes*
Now, onto the review of the low pH cleanser that I have been using since March I think...
Description (Taken from StyleKorean*)
➤Sustain moisture every day and all day long!
➤For AM time & sensitive skin Mildly acidic pH 5.0 ~ 6.0 Good Morning Gel Cleanser pH 5.0 ~6.0 : similar to skin’s natural pH level
➤Contain tea-tree oil : control oily skin, shrink pore size
➤Contain natural BHA : refine skin texture
➤Gel type : smooth and skin friendly
➤ WHY choose Good Morning Mildly Acidic Cleanser? pH4: acidic 5-6 : natural range, most ideal skin, neutral 7-8 : acne skin 9 : atropic skin , alkali Skin is mildly acidic !
➤Oily skin’s pH is lower
➤Dry, sensitive skin’s pH is higher Don’t get yourself fooled! Washing with water only in the morning is not acceptable even after the perfect wash day before at night! Skin produces dead skins and sebum while you sleep. Mildly acidic cleanser softly removes those wastes and leaves skin hydrated all day long.
Suggest Use
➤1. For AM time : Dispense the cleanser and massage onto a wet skin to dissolve and wash away sebum, dirt, dead skins, leaving skin extremely soft and comfortable.
➤2. For other time : Wash with your normal cleanser first, and do a second wash with Good Morning Mildly Acidic Cleanser onto your sensitive skin. Gently massage onto a skin and rinse thoroughly with a tepid water.
➤TIP Try Good Morning Gel Cleanser onto a dry skin and massage in a circular motion. Then use a small amount of water to make lather. Wash face with fresh lather to achieve a clear skin.
Active ingredients
Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, Polysorbate 20, Styrax Japonicus Branch/Fruit/Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Saccharomyces Ferment, Cryptomeria Japonica Leaf Extract, Nelumbo Nucifera Leaf Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Allantoin, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Betaine Salicylate, Citric Acid, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sodium Benzoate, Disodium EDTA
Packaging
➤Comes in a 150ml plastic tube with cap
➤Easy to squeeze
Texture
➤Clear runny gel consistency
➤Has a tea tree scent. I like it.
➤Lathers fine even with a small amount. Doesn't really produce much bubbles but can use a net to make more bubbles.
➤A little goes a long way, longer if you use a bubble net because a tiny amount can produce big bubbles.
The Review
I've been using this close to 4 months now during the day and night and the length is more than enough to share my thoughts on this cleanser.
➤ First off, I am a low pH convert. I get scared to encounter high pH cleansers now. If you have an acne prone skin, it is best to use products with low pH so your skin barrier is not damaged that can cause more acne.
Pros
➤The fact that it is a low pH cleanser. I tested on my pH strip and it comes out at around pH 4~5 after mixing with my home's tap water.
➤It is GENTLE. My skin doesn't feel stripped or dry after using, instead my skin feels soft, cleansed and supple.
➤The natural BHA may actually refined my skin texture since my skin is left soft after cleansing.
➤Able to remove LIGHT makeup residues. If you wear heavier makeup, make sure to remove it properly during the first cleansing step.
➤A little goes a long way. I've been using this cleanser since March and I'm expecting to empty it by the end of this month (maybe it will last for 5 months). So if you really like this cleanser, it is cost-effective for you.
➤Does a pretty good job at cleansing.
Cons
➤The packaging and the consistency itself are actually NOT TRAVEL FRIENDLY. Due to the runny clear texture (I don't even have to squeeze the tube, I just titled it to dispense), it can cause leakage. Also the cap that I've gotten can't seem to be shut tightly.
➤Not able to take off heavy makeup.
➤The tea tree oil IS NOT HELPING with controlling my oiliness, breakouts and tightening of my pores. I know some people rave about this cleanser because it controls their breakouts BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME CASE FOR ME SADLY.
➤When I first introduced this cleanser to my routine, my skin especially on the forehead purged for 2 weeks. I was getting small pimples every single day, I thought it wouldn't end :( after the purging, my skin becomes alright so I keep on using this cleanser.
My Final Thoughts
➤As an individual with an acne prone skin, having a low pH cleanser that is able to control my breakouts is one of the cleanser qualities that I always look for.
➤I used other low pH cleansers before this one which was the Innsifree Barley Powder Wash and Sebamed Bubble Cleanser and they are able to control my breakouts. Unfortunately this Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser doesn't provide me that like what it does to others.
➤I just like how it cleanses my face well and leaves my skin soft and not stripped.
➤Overall I think the cleanser doesn't do anything impactful for me.
➤I have a backup of this cleanser but it is too bad that I have to give it away.
Just so you know, just because a product does something great to others doesn't mean that it will do great on your skin too.
Disclaimer: I received this cleanser as a gift from Bomibox. I wasn't told to do a review on this. This is from my personal experience and my reviews are honest.

hi i think i have same problem wit you which is oily skin. i've tried and used many product to reduce oilness but all didn't work on my skin. also i've tried this cosrx low pH and nothing changed. can u suggest cleanser that can reduce oilness?
ReplyDeleteHello dear. Using a cleanser alone to control oiliness is tough, you might need to add in an oil control toner or moisturizer. I'm currently using Hada Labo Sensitive Face Wash and it performs better than the Cosrx low pH imo :)
DeleteI experienced this too, tiny bumps all over my chin. I think it is the purging stage?
ReplyDeletecould be. hope your skin is fine now!
DeleteOMG. I bought this cleanser recently and I just used it 3 times. I was shocked when I saw tiny bumps on my skin. How long the purging process will take? I just hope this cleanser will work.
ReplyDeletemy purging lasted for 2 weeks, I think it depends on one's skin. Hope your skin is all better!
Deletei researched a lot on what cleanser to use and heard rave reviews about this, so i just started using this cleanser last week. sadly i also started breaking out in my usual places! small pimples started popping up on my forehead and cheeks. i really hope this is just purging :(
ReplyDeleteit could be, I experienced the same thing too, getting purging/breakouts from unusual places. Hope your skin is better! :)
