The Face Shop The Therapy Essential Tonic Treatment (Anti-Aging Formula) Review | European Blending Formula in Kbeauty
Annyeong, Everyone~
Hows everyone's Sunday?
As for me, I'm tired. First day of shark week made me like this...
I needed extra care and love.
I need Babe to carry me everywhere.
Feeling spoiled today.
Have you guys heard of the 7 Skin Method? It is a method where you layer toner or essence(s) onto your face seven times for a plump, hydrated and glowing skin. Glow Recipe demonstrates how you can do the 7 Skin Method in the video below. The toner/essence used must be an appropriate one, for example, the Purpletale Setting The Scene Essence has the right consistency to use for the 7 Skin Method while using the Cosrx Natural BHA Skin Returning A-Sol is the wrong product to use because it is an acid/active and layering it on your skin will just burn the hell out of it.
Anyway I am not required/paid to say the above. I just thought that this product that I'm reviewing is suitable for the 7 Skin Method.
The Face Shop The Therapy Essential Tonic Treatment
This anti-aging treatment tones, boost and evens out rough and flaky skin.
- Toner and treatment essence in one product
- Essential gel texture
- Marche Handmade Anti-Aging Blending Formula
How to Use
As the first step of the skincare routine, dispense a sufficient amount of the product onto a cotton pad and gently wip the face from middle outwards. Lightly pat the skin to absorb.
Dispense an abundant amount onto a cotton pad and massage onto face for one minute or two for a quick mask pack effect.
For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of the reach of children. Discontinue use if irritation and/or rash appear.

Information taken from The Face Shop Canada.
Notable Ingredients:
⇴ Sodium Hyaluronate - moisturizing
⇴ Honey Extract - soothing, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, nourishing
⇴ Cacoa Extract - hydrating
⇴ Oat Extract - acne fighting
⇴ Olive Oil - moisturizes dry skin
⇴ Turmeric Root Extract - acne fighting
⇴ A number of Plant extracts for anti-oxidant
Consistency
⇴ thick gel texture, doesn't really run
⇴ light yellow in color, must be due to the blend of ingredients since no colorings are added
⇴ has fragrance to it
⇴ the finish makes skin looking plump and hydrated for me who has an oily skin
My Thoughts
⇴ I don't really have faith in some The Face Shop products because I think they are mediocre BUT when I tried this, I am happy that it doesn't break me out(I have acne prone skin)! Despite being thick and made for aging skin since it is from their Anti-Aging skincare line
⇴ I think this is a good hydrating toner. I mentioned about 7 Skin Method earlier and I think for those with dry skin will enjoy doing the method with this toner
⇴ Again, I have an oily skin and I can't really implement the 7 Skin Method with this one. When my face is at its upmost oily, layering it THREE times is already enough to set my face for my night skincare routine. I do not need to further with essences, serums, gels etc
⇴ Anyway if you are using Acids, this toner isn't suitable to use before applying acids cause it is thick and the acid might have difficulty to penetrate into the skin
Pros
⇴ Provides hydration
⇴ I think it will replenish dryer skin types better since I don't have dry patches on my face
⇴ Doesn't break me out
⇴ Plumps up skin
⇴ No harmful ingredients
Cons
⇴ Might be heavy for oily skin types
⇴ Might be too perfumey for sensitive noses
My Final Thoughts
⇴ Overall it is a great hydrating toner BUT I don't see my oily skin benefit much from it. I wanted to use my acids too and implement alot of (light) skincare steps...
⇴ I think this toner will be appreciated more by dryer skin types, it will be a great and worthy skin treatment if you are okay with the little perfume smell and if your skin don't react negatively to it. I do like using this when my forehead gets unexceptionally dry and needed plumping *forehead wrinkles be gone*
⇴ I am fine with lightweight toners as for now. Maybe one day if I experienced Winter then I'll be quick to grab this toner
Disclaimer: I received this sample sized toner as a gift from a beautiful generous eonnie.♡♡
